CHOC Children's Glass Slipper Guild Virtual Gala and More!

The Glass Slipper Guild hosts an annual gala that raises sizable funds for CHOC Children’s Hospital. Due to COVID-19, the event this year will be in the form of a virtual gala held online for viewers to watch and donate from home. The goal of the event is to reach $2 million, which would allow for incredible developments towards their fetal program. ESI Video was given the opportunity to produce various video segments to be shown throughout the virtual event on July 25th.

One of the videos we produced for Glass Slipper Guild took us to the Farmhouse at the beautiful Roger's Gardens. We met with the hosts, Amy and Lauren, to create a video teaching people how to make a specialty cocktail for the event: "The Glass Sipper".

Next, we traveled to the home of the Marshall family. There, we were able to speak to them about CHOC and how their newborn child was given special care that ultimately saved her life. This was achieved using our new multi-camera interview setup.

The following week, we visited the home of the De Lorea family to discuss their experience with CHOC. Their newborn daughter was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia resulting in internal organs shifting towards the chest and damaging the development of her lungs.

Thankfully, with CHOC's help, she is now healthy and thriving. It has become very apparent during our film shoots that CHOC Children’s has changed many familys’ lives for the better. It has been a big honor for ESI Video to be able to join them as we hear stories from their patients. We are not only able to create engaging content, but aid in helping a wonderful foundation gain the funds needed to help children and families in need.

Dole Healthy-At-Home Cooking Series

Dole is showcasing healthy meals that can be prepared from home with Melanie Marcus, Dole's Nutrition and Healthy Communications Manager. With her footage, shot entirely from home, we produced a cooking video showing you how to grill BBQ Chicken Stuffed Smoked Pineapple. We understand that in these strange times, people simply cannot meet in person to create a production. However, even if your project needs to be shot remotely, we can use our resources to create a high quality product from anywhere.

Neema's One Year Anniversary at ESI Video!

As of last week our newest team member, Neema Fahimy, has been a part of ESI Video for an entire year! After starting here as editor during the summer, he has slowly become more involved with ESI’s many projects and productions. Here’s what he has to say:

"I've had a really great time working on so many different projects throughout the year. From big event highlights to live broadcasts, I've gained a lot of knowledge on video production through my experiences at ESI Video.

After graduating from college with little experience, I was worried that finding a job would be difficult. Luckily, Jimm and Gerald we’re incredibly welcoming and have helped me become a more competent video editor and videographer.”

Here are few of Neema’s favorite video edits from the past year working with ESI projects!

Recently, Neema edited his very first episode of From the Pit with Jimm Vest! In this episode, we learn how to make Shishito Peppers.

The Unite For Change: Mental Health For Us Forum was held at USC this year. We had the opportunity to run the live broadcast as well as shoot and produce a highlight video.

In April, we created an instructional video about repairing divots for the Alta Vista Country Club newsletter. The video parodies the classic show "The Twilight Zone".

A "4th of July" Announcement from Uncle Jimm

In honor of Independence Day, Jimm Vest wanted to feature you on a special 4th of July episode of From the Pit. Take a look at the special announcement video we made to instruct participants how to enter and win! We are awarding our 2 favorite submissions a free bottle of barbecue seasoning!
